Why we ask you to book direct

2 May 2026 · 4 min read

Booking straight with us costs you less and means you deal with a real person who knows the home. Here's what actually changes.

It's easy to book a stay in a couple of clicks on one of the big platforms. We're on some of them ourselves. But when we quietly nudge people to book direct with us, it isn't a corporate line — it genuinely changes the stay, and the price.

No third-party service fees

The big platforms charge a guest service fee on top of the nightly rate, typically 12 to 15% of the booking. Booking direct removes that fee entirely. On an average three-night stay with us, that's between £80 and £120 back in your pocket.

You speak to us, not a call centre

Every enquiry that comes through our site goes to a real person on our small team. We know every home, we know which one suits a couple's weekend and which one suits a family, and we can answer a question the same day.

We can be flexible

Weekly rates for contractors, custom check-in times when the changeover allows, an extra travel cot or an early welcome hamper — none of that is available through a platform booking, and all of it is a simple message away when you book direct.

The rate is always the best

We don't undercut the platforms on the rate itself. We match it. What direct booking gives you is the same rate, without the fees, plus a human on the other end. That's the whole promise.
